If you want to create controllable and flexible online apps, you should look into the React, Vue.js, and Angular frameworks.

Before we start the vs, let me just discuss these amazing frameworks.

Structure

Angular

Angular is simply a JavaScript Framework that allows you to build reactive Single-Page Applications (SPAs)

Angular is an HTML and TypeScript-based platform and framework for developing single-page client apps.

TypeScript is used to write Angular.

It provides important and optional functionality as a collection of TypeScript libraries that you can import into your apps.

Angular gives multiple linking, which allows components in your application to share data.

Use two-way binding to listen for events and change values between parent and child components, among other things.

Paypal, Google, and Udacity are all using it.

Pros:

  • It comes with its unit and e2e testing tools (Jasmine & Karma)
  • It features a strong routing system.
  • Supports mobile development with Ionic NgRx library
  • Can be used instead of Redux Standalone framework Services
  • Dependency Injection (DI)
  • Linking in 2 ways

Cons:

  • Complex and verbose
  • The learning curve is high.
  • Version updates are extremely annoying (Angular.js to Angular 2..14)
  • At runtime, it compiles useful or not all components.
  • The file size is somewhat larger than that of other frameworks.
  • SEO possibilities are limited.
  • The CLI documentation is missing specifics.
  • It lacks VirtualDOM.

React

React uses a declarative paradigm that enables thinking about your application and aims to be both efficient and flexible.

It creates basic views for each state of your application, and when your data changes, React will quickly update and render the joint attention.

React is a JavaScript library for creating user interfaces that are clear, fast, and adaptive.

In MVC, the ‘V’ indicates the view.

ReactJS is an open-source, component-based front-end library that is only responsible for the application’s display layer.

Facebook is in charge of its improvement.

Used by large corporations such as Facebook, Netflix, and Uber

It should be noted that React is not a framework.

It is just a library created by Facebook to address some issues that we were experiencing previously.

Pros:

  • Superb community, tutorial, and documentation
  • Rapid regeneration and updating
  • Uses all of ES6’s new features.
  • Components that are simple to learn and reused
  • VirtualDOM
  • Create React App allows for simple setup.
  • A lot of unit testing resources
  • Native mobile support is also available. Ionic
  • State management also helps. Recoil, Redux

Cons:

  • The syntax of JSX
  • The high growth rate
  • Documentation is a little slow.

Vue

The main library of Vue.js focuses exclusively on the View layer.

It is known as a progressive frame since its functionality may be improved using official and third-party packages such as Vue Router or Vuex to convert it into a meaningful frame.

Although Vue is not technically related to the MVVM (Model-View-ViewModel) pattern, it was inspired by it.

With Vue, you’ll mostly be working on the ViewModel layer, guaranteeing that the application data is handled in such a way that the framework can generate an up-to-date View.

Evan You, a Google employee, started it in 2014.

Vue is adaptable to a wide range of environments.

In addition to many libraries in Vue CLI.

It features (TailwindCSS, GraphQL, routing, and state management), and some tools are included (Cypress is used for e2e testing.)

Used by huge companies such as Alibaba, Trustpilot, and GitLab.

Pros:

  • Excellent documentation
  • VirtualDOM two-way connection
  • Basic unit testing
  • NativeScript Standalone framework offers native mobile support.
  • faster than comparable frameworks
  • A version that is simple to upgrade

Cons:

  • Poor community in comparison to alternatives
  • The release times are rather slow.
  • There aren’t enough English documents.
  • Awful development team

Popularity

Angular

Google is the creator of Angular. It’s often used in apps and runs over 98k websites, as per BuiltWith statistics.

With 82.7k stars on GitHub, it is the least starred of the three frameworks.

When switching from Angular 1 to Angular 2, however, they created a whole new repository rather than keeping the AngularJS project, which also has 59.4k stars.

React

With 191k stars on GitHub, React is one of the most popular JavaScript projects.

Facebook developed and controls it, and it’s used in many of their internal projects.

BuiltWith uses statistics, it also powers over 2 million websites.

Vue

Vue has the most stars on GitHub of the three frameworks, at 198k.

According to BuiltWith, it is a highly powerful, active project in the open-source community that is used by over 1 million websites.

Similar Concepts

Modern Web Apps, often known as PWAs, may be created using Angular, React, and Vue.

PWAs are web applications that smartphone users may put as shortcuts to their home screen and have a similar look and feel to native mobile apps.

Premium templates and pre-made apps are available for each framework, however, Angular and React offer more premium alternatives than Vue.

UI Effectiveness

On a Razer Blade 15 Advanced (i7- 8750H, 64 GB RAM, Fedora 33 beta (Linux 5.8.13–300, mitigations=off), Chrome 86.0.4240.75 was tested (64-bit)

1–95% confidence level for the duration in milliseconds (Slowdown = Duration / Fastest)

2 — Statistics for startups (lighthouse with mobile simulation)

3–95% confidence level for memory allocation in MBs

4 — A smaller file means a faster download and less processing.

5 — This shows how short the given library/framework/language is.

How many lines of code are required to create almost the same app (some with a few more hooks and whistles) following the specification?

Final Words

Understand that this is not an apples-to-apples comparison.

Of course, these frameworks, chosen for their time and place will bring you to your goal; I’ve only attempted to describe their comparisons as best I can.

We chose to React for most of our web apps like Trendyol following this comparison, as we have a huge community and already have the know-how.

Angular

Overall, I feel Angular suits our medium to large-scale needs.

However, Angular is not a great framework; large changes make switching between versions tough.

Because of the community’s limitations, we often waste time; you can spend time discovering answers.

Unfortunately, the community’s limitation decreases creativity.

React

There is a huge React community and many solutions.

Because it is so popular, there is a large community and you can probably find any topic you can think of.

With its current versions, it is taking steps toward becoming a stand-alone framework by removing its need for other libraries.

Vue

Vue is used widely enough by Alibaba and Xiaomi to make it popular all over the world rapidly for small to medium application needs.

It features a compact structure that may be improved further.

Its weaknesses have included a lack of resources and developers, as well as the fact that several important resources are only available in Chinese.

The reality that it is a separate framework, that there is a transfer tool for version transitions, and that it is faster than its competitors are all pros.
